About Me
My name is Chris. I understand that it is often a quite daunting prospect, making that initial contact to get help from a counsellor but by reading my profile you have taken the first step and I thank you for that.
Many of us are trying to make sense of and cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-esteem, relationships, and trauma. Often, we can feel low, unhappy or sad and not know why. Sometimes this can become too much and we struggle. Whatever you bring to our counselling sessions you can be sure that you can talk about it openly and without any form of judgement, no issues are too small or too big. I’m here to listen.
As a qualified person-centred counsellor, I believe that the person who knows you best, is you. I won’t be telling you what to do or giving you homework but together we will explore what is worrying you and find a way for you to move forward. I will create a safe, judgement free space for us to work, where you can better understand your feelings and gain insight into how your experiences might be affecting you.
In my own life, personal counselling has been an invaluable tool in helping me to overcome difficult and uncomfortable situations and events. Times when talking to friends or family just wasn’t possible, showed me how powerful having a trained professional listen to you can be.
My client's have successfully worked though many issues including -
Depression
Anxiety
Relationship Problems
Self esteem
Anger
Bullying
Self harm
Sexual Abuse
Counselling Sessions
Our first meeting will be a time where we can learn a little about each other and when we can both decide whether we will be able to work together or not. You can see how and where I work and get an idea or how it feels. The room is quiet, comfortable, safe, private and confidential.
I offer counselling grounded in the Person-Centred Approach which puts you at the focal point of our work together. Information about this and other approaches is available from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) via the link below.
All sessions are scheduled at mutually agreed times, last for 50 minutes and are priced at £50.
I offer face to face (in-person), telephone and online sessions via Zoom as well as a free 30 minute initial session.
